Just Listen 2

     I believe music was a symbol in Just Listen, by Sarah Dessen. Music plays a huge role in this book. It's everywhere. It's a big part of Annabel's relationship with Owen which is in the end what helps her through everything. In the beginning of the book Annabel listens to very poppy music and by the end her music taste is "better". I think that her taste in music symbolizes her life in the beginning of the book. Fake. She hides a lot and lies to cover up her past. By the end she tells the truth and clears everything up. Her life become what you could say more real. As Annabel becomes more real so does her music taste. If music taste can even be real. Once Annabel's music taste balances out so does her life.
